It’s TOMATO SEASON people! Tomato salad is my favorite summer side! I love this time of year and if you’ve been to our Instagram, you know we are using our own tomatoes from our little garden space. We are getting a lot and have 6 kinds of tomato we are growing! So enough about my love of tomatoes…let’s talk TOMATO SALAD.
We had a friend over for dinner the other night. He was going to bring the side. I was cool with that, but he text that he was still at work and didn’t do anything for the side. I told him not to worry, I’d come up with something. Since we were grilling chicken, I thought a summery salad would be nice. German potato salad reminds Walter of the time he lived in Germany. Memories of his time there inspired him to combine the perfect combination of ingredients based on these memories to make his own version of a German potato salad. He made this recipe a few years back out of deep craving for the flavors of Germany. Last night we made it for dinner to go with some grilled brats! It was delicious and I had to share it with everyone!
This is the last recipe from the spiral ham this summer…I promise! I loved the challenge though! It kept my kitchen cooler, made me think outside the box a bit, and totally got me out of any comfort zone that I had. I am making this one for a Block Party my neighborhood is having this weekend!
