Pink Sauce

Our pink sauce is a mixture of a béchamel and a basic tomato sauce. It comes out to make a creamy pink sauce that is delicious in our lasagna recipe and great for any kind of pasta you want. It’s a nice change from your normal marinara.

Pink Sauce

Ingredients:

2 can Organic Tomato Sauce
1 can tomato paste
1/3 cup flour
2 1/2 cups milk
Pinch of nutmeg
Salt
Pepper
4 tablespoon butter
2 sprigs chopped sage
7 leaves chopped Basil
1 bay leaf

Directions:

You’ll begin by making a béchamel sauce first:
Make a roux by melting the butter in a pan and mixing in the flour. Add milk and nutmeg. Stir until sauce thickens.

Add cans of tomato sauce and tomato paste stir until sauce is an even red to pink color. Add chopped Basil and sage into sauce and stir. Add Bay leaf cover and bring to a simmer. Simmer for about 30 minutes. Remove bay leaf.
