At work the other day we were talking about encrusting coffee onto meats. I have done it (to pork chops) and my co-worker does it quite often. Her way is much better than my initial attempt. After some discussion of techniques, I asked, “Have you ever just marinated a pork chop in brewed coffee?” Everyone around replied they hadn’t. Then this was born.

I love things on a bun. I had this idea a few months ago and am finally getting around to it. I was tempted to use my regular meatball recipe I shared back in February, but it just didn’t seem right for these. You can use that one if you want, but I made up this combination specifically for sliders.
Is this really a thing? I don’t know honestly. I know if this was done on plain bread it was a favorite of Elvis’. I just wanted to make it out of French toast for breakfast! I love peanut butter on warm breakfast pancakes and waffles, so why not French toast? And as a kid I loved peanut butter and banana sandwiches. And, who doesn’t love bacon?
